Yet when John Mars and his wife Adrienne quietly slipped into Albury Wodonga late last month and picked up their hire car at the airport, no one noticed. It was only when the 81-year-old grandson of Mars food empire founder Frank Mars turned up at the factory he built 50 years earlier on the outskirts of town that he was welcomed with open arms by former and current staff to celebrate the golden jubilee of the plant.
