The boss of a family-owned 1,200-strong horticulture and landscaping specialist, which has a turnover of about £85m, has said the company's acquisition strategy is "fundamental" to its vision for the future, with completion on a further four purchases expected to complete in autumn.
Surrey-headquartered Nurture Landscapes was established by Peter Fane in 2008.
The company's most recent acquisition was the purchase of Gavin Jones Ltd in February 2018. The addition brought sales of £30m and allowed Nurture Landscapes to expand further across the UK.
This year (2019), Nuture has signed heads of terms on four acquisitions, which are set to complete in the autumn.
Peter Fane, managing director of Nurture Landscapes, said: "We were delighted to complete the acquisition of Gavin Jones Ltd last year and the relationship is already proving to be prosperous for both companies and our respective clients." "We always planned to make acquisitions, but probably not quite the number and scale that we have done," "Initially, we chose acquisitions based on expanding our geographical footprint across the UK. One of the benefits of acquiring a company is that talented individuals always come with them; we like to nurture them as best we can, and make sure they are still with us in ten years’ time. Hopefully, one of them will have my job."
