Plans for a new Ferrari showroom and garage in Leeds, which is set to create jobs and provide a new landmark building, have been given the green light.

The proposal covers the construction of two new buildings: a new car dealership and an associated car storage and preparation building. About 145 parking spaces would be provided.

Part of the current Porsche site will be redeveloped, as well as an undeveloped plot to the North East.

JCT600 will relocate and expand from its existing dealership on Lower Wortley Ring Road, enabling it to retain the Ferrari franchise within the Leeds area.

The group's existing Ferrari dealership currently employs 25 staff, all of whom will relocate to the new site, with up to ten additional jobs set to be created through the expansion. The Lower Wortley Ring Road site will be redeveloped into a new Rolls Royce business, increasing overall employment by about 25 jobs.

The JCT600 family-owned group operates more than 50 dealerships across Yorkshire, the North East, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. It employs about 2,250 staff and recorded turnover of £1.28bn in its most recent financial results.
